Pat and Ken met while attending the U. of Minnesota, Duluth campus where they both received degrees in art. They live about 110 miles north of the twin cities on 80 acres of the original family homestead. While being self employed artist is a 24/7 job they also keep a large garden in the summer, heat mostly with wood and try to find the time to go backpacking in the mountains of Wyoming or canyons in Utah and Arizona. In the winter when all the snow is shoveled they try and stay in shape with cross country skiing. When time permits they tap maple trees for maple syrup in the spring. Their property is rural and wild. Visitors to their backyard include wolves, bear, deer, ravens, owls and numerous small animals.
