When this piece was designed I had been looking at books about pre-historic art and architecture in Europe and the middle east and also a book about the Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Naguchi. Some of the pre-historic sculptures could have fit into showings of contemporary work. Although this piece is simple, it has repetition of elements and planned for tension in shape and dimension. 26"T x 14" W x 5.5" D $750.00

The raven is 28" over the top from the beak to the tail, and the whole piece is about 26.5" tall. Another treasure has been found for the "Ancestral Memories", those things acquired and stored here will become part of the clans genetic memory. Future generations will touch the treasures and remember their stories. The text on the sides of the sculpture is a code and has a translation. Raku and low temperature salt saggar fired. 26.5" T x 16.5" T x 21" D $2900.00

15 3/4" x 5 1/2 with the arms up $330.00 When I was a kid and the summer days were hot, sometimes I would go down to the cool basement and find old National Geographic's from the 1920's and 30's. I think that is where I first saw pictures of the Polynesian "Tikis" and the famous heads from Easter Island. Take that and fast forward to today, mix in a little irreverence for our technologically driven society, a little disgust with art critics who tell us what to like without telling us why, and just having been self-employed for a long time. It comes as five separate pieces and can be posed with arms up or down and tong in or out. Some assembly required. With purchase there will be a translation of the code on the base. Your own message can be inscribed for a small additional fee.

These figures start as wheel turned pieces that are folded paddled and augmented into the shapes you see here. The faces are made and fired separately, then glued into the hood after the pieces are fired. The "Charm" hanging from the back of the head is hand made and hung with macrame of waxed linen. Salt saggar and horse hair raku fired. Although we all have a "tribal" past, these figures are mostly inspired by the cold climate we live in.
